New Life Counselling is committed to helping
individuals, families and communities in their pursuit of a happier
and healthier lifestyle.
Philosophy
Aiding in the exploration of self, family and
community; clients are engaged in the process of uncovering, discovering
and recovering from the blocks & barriers that hold many trapped
in an unfulfilled life. Freedom from any dependency aids clients
in developing a new sense of value and purpose, which are fundamental
in building a healthier self-image and developing stronger personal
relationships.
Staff
Jay Pasternack, is a Human Service counsellor
and holds a diploma in Alcohol and Drug counselling from Mcmaster
University. He has been in the field of substance abuse, mental
health and health promotion for over 20 years. Holding the
position as the Youth Outreach Manager for the Donwood Institute (C.A.M.H.)
and later the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Jay has been
an integral part of developing and implementing Health Promotion
Strategies for both the public and private sector presenting over
500 motivational presentations. He is an accomplished counsellor
and a skilled presenter with an easy going manner which enables
clients and families to feel comfortable and secure that they
are being well cared for. He enjoys a reputation across the health
care community as the professionals professional having colleagues
and peers refer their loved ones for help when needed. Jay has
extensive experience working with youth and families and is familiar
with treatment programs throughout the country. He has been in
private practice as counsellor and Clinical Director of New Life
Counselling Services for the past twenty years.
Our staff is composed of a dedicated team of
diverse professionals, with experience and training in chemical
dependency and related addictions. This includes Alcohol and Drug
counsellors, Relapse Prevention Specialists and Addiction Medicine
Specialists. Many of our staff are in recovery and have credentials
of the heart and through personal experience, understand the recovery
process.
Our main office
is located at 4211 Yonge Street Suite 302,
with a number of additional meeting sites across the GTA.
